Ashgabat 2018 IWF World Championships

From 1 to 10 November, the largest international weightlifting competitions will be held in Ashgabat, about 800 foreign athletes from 100 states will take part. Nine of them are represented by Africa, 38 by Europe, 29 by Asia, 15 by American countries and 9 by Oceania. In total, about 1,500 representatives from different countries, including judicial brigades, journalists and others, should attend the weightlifting sports forum in the capital of Turkmenistan. About 500 volunteers from universities of Turkmenistan were trained to service the tournament.

On October 31, on the eve of the 2018 World Cup, the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) congress will be held in Ashgabat. Solemn opening of the World Cup 2018 will be held on November 1 in the Olympic town of the capital. On the same day, weightlifters will compete for the first medals of the world championship.
